{"id":4211,"date":"2016-12-23T10:22:40","date_gmt":"2016-12-23T15:22:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/resources.evans-legal.com\/?p=4211"},"modified":"2016-12-23T10:32:22","modified_gmt":"2016-12-23T15:32:22","slug":"self-settled-special-needs-trusts","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/resources.evans-legal.com\/?p=4211","title":{"rendered":"Self-Settled Special Needs Trusts"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The \u201c21st Century Cures Act,\u201d H.R. 34, which was signed into law on December 13, 2016, becoming P.L. 114-255, made a change to the Social Security Act in order to allow people with disabilities to create their own Medicaid-qualifying trusts without court approval.<\/p>\n<p>Specifically, section 5007 of the Act provides as follows::<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;SEC. 5007.
