The Supreme Court has entered an order<\/a>\u00a0with attached new Pa.O.C. Rules 14.1 through 14.14 and amendments to Rules 1.5 and 5.10 through 5.12<\/a>, new Orphans’ Court Forms G-01 through G-04<\/a>, and\u00a0an explanatory report of the Orphans’ Court Procedural Rules Committee<\/a>.\u00a0 This order rescinds and replaces all guardianship rules and four guardianship forms.\u00a0\u00a0The new rules were previously published for\u00a0comment at 47 Pa.B. 5930 (September 23, 2017); 47 Pa.B. 4815 (August 19, 2017);\u00a0and 46 Pa.B. 7934 (December 17, 2016).<\/p>\n

The new rules will be effective June 1, 2019.<\/p>\n

“In re: Order Rescinding and Replacing Rules 14.1 through 14.5 and Forms G-01 through G-04, and Amending Rules 1.5, 5.10 through 5.12, and Index to Appendix of the Pennsylvania Orphans’ Court Rules,” 48 Pa.B. 3524<\/a> (6\/16\/2018),\u00a0No. 770 Supreme Court Rules Docket<\/a>\u00a0(6\/1\/2018).<\/p>\n

The Supreme Court has also entered an order<\/a> directing that local guardianship rules be reviewed and that new rules be submitted to the Orphans’ Court Procedural Rules Committee for review in accordance with O.C. Rule 1.5 not later than December 1, 2018.\u00a0 All existing local guardianship rules will be vacated effective June 1, 2019.<\/p>\n
