{"id":8187,"date":"2020-09-18T17:41:44","date_gmt":"2020-09-18T21:41:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/resources.evans-legal.com\/?p=8187"},"modified":"2020-09-25T08:57:41","modified_gmt":"2020-09-25T12:57:41","slug":"revised-public-access-rules","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/resources.evans-legal.com\/?p=8187","title":{"rendered":"Revised Public Access Policy"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Supreme Court has issued <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/www.pacourts.us\/assets\/files\/page-1090\/file-10047.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">an order<\/a> adopting a <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/www.pacourts.us\/assets\/files\/page-1090\/file-10048.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">revised public access policy<\/a> for Pennsylvania courts, including the Orphans&#8217; Court. Included with the order is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pacourts.us\/assets\/files\/page-1090\/file-10046.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">an explanatory report<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These revised policy include two significant changes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The rules had previously made exceptions for confidential information or documents that were required to be included in pleadings or other documents because of statutes or other &#8220;applicable authority.&#8221;  The rules now require that all confidential information and documents be safeguarded in the same way regardless of applicable authority.<\/li><li>A certification of compliance is no longer required to be included as a separate page of the filing, but may be part of an electronic filing process, part of a cover page or other form, or included in the body of the pleading or other filing.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The revised rules will be effective in thirty days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;In re: Order Amending Case Records Public Access Policy of the Unified Judicial System,&#8221; No 538 Judicial Administration Doc.
